Yesterday I heard a new that makes my happy. The win of Zohran Mandani on the election for New York mayor.

And makes my happy for some reasons.

First of all was the message that send to Donald Trump:

“New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city build by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight lead by immigrants”

I think that this is the essence of the United States.

Is a country created by immigrants, growing by immigrants and leaded by immigrants.

You should remember the expression “melting pot”, borrowed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt from the the play of 1908 “The melting Pot”, that express the concept of multi-cultural and multi-nationality composition of the United States. An idea that advocates for the integration of everyone in this new nation, no matter their origin and no one will be estranger nor hated nor persecuted for be who is.

The rest of the Mandani win speech is absolutely coherent with my ideas, free public transport, social housing, public quality kid health care, etc.

I hope Mandani’s actions will endorse his speech. That would be a ray of hope for those who think in that way, but see that the advance of the far-right everywhere seems unstoppable.
